Oxford
In Oxford (50 miles
southeast of Stratford), we learned
that there is no one place called
"Oxford University." It's composed
of 40 or so separately-named
colleges, with Christ Church
considered the most well known.
Lewis Carroll (real name: Charles
Dodgson) was a math tutor at Christ
Church.
The stories that Carroll told to the
dean's young daughters evolved into
the famous Alice in Wonderland
books.
